Join the server
This server runs Half-Life 2: Raising the Bar – Arena, a free Source mod. Install it first: download and instructions on ModDB.
Then start the game, open the developer console and type:
connect 144.2.105.179:27016

Your first join downloads about 18 MB of sounds (music,
announcer) from our own FastDL — once. Custom maps download when they're played
(rtba_dm_zeta_sf_b1: about 101 MB, one time).
Net settings — paste these in the console once. This server runs 66 tick:

Use cl_interp_ratio 2 if you have packet loss. Type !lerp in chat to see what you are running.
In-game commands
!menu | the server menu: your settings, the map list, players and the ranking |
!rtv | rock the vote: once half the players ask for it, a map vote starts |
!nominate | opens the server menu on its Maps page, with a Nominate button on
every map — or !nominate <map> to nominate directly (part of the name is enough) |
!v <number> | answer the map vote in chat; the ballot page opens by itself when a vote starts (!ballot reopens it) |
!run <name> | instant switch to a rotation map (e.g. !run mall) |
!rank / !ladder | your ELO & the top 10 |

!music | turn the end-of-map music on or off for yourself; DJ tracks are played by admins |

The ranking
RTBA has its own ladder, separate from HL2DM. Every kill is an ELO duel: beating a stronger player pays a lot, farming weaker ones pays almost nothing. Your first 50 engagements are silent placements; your first 100 use a fast K-factor so your rank finds your real level quickly, then it stabilizes. Ranks go from Iron to Radiant (1480+), shown as a colored tag in the game chat.
